Google Analytics: 4 Years, 30k pageviews, 145 Countries

According to the Google Analytics account I set up for this blog roughly 4 years ago, two thresholds have just been crossed: 30,000 page views by visitors from 145 countries. About 6 months ago, I reported that the 25,000 page view threshold had been passed by visitors from 135 countries.

Interestingly enough, for the first time in recent memory the overall percentage of visits from the United States actually increased. As of today, visitors from the top 10 countries of origin remain the same as that last milestone, with India and Canada switching places: United States (44.86%), United Kingdom (4.55%), India (4.24%), Canada (4.04%), Germany (3.58%), France (2.89%), Australia (2.70%), Brazil (2.29%), Netherlands (1.88%), and Spain (1.65%).

Visits from the top 10 cities of origin show the top 4 of these remaining the same as that of the last milestone, with the bottom 6 of these playing musical chairs: (1) New York City, (2) Chicago, (3) London, (4) Bangalore, (5) Sydney, (6) Moscow, (7) Toronto, (8) Singapore, (9) Melbourne, and (10) San Francisco. Toronto was the most mobile during this time period, moving up 3 spots from #10.

Unlike the last time period, there has been some considerable movement amongst the top 15 pages visited, with two posts gathering considerable attention from visitors looking for guidance on treadmill maintenance, including the most recent on DIY control board replacement, which shot up to a ranking of #12 in a relatively short period of time.

While technology and business topics are the focus of this blog, over the course of my consulting career running has always helped enable life balance, and I have enjoyed the reader feedback received since incorporating discussions on this subject. However, I have yet to determine how to fit the subject of running into the tagline, and would love to hear your suggestions.

And as with previous years, I have also especially enjoyed the book review requests received from authors, and regret that I do not have time to entertain all requests. In the past year, I have reviewed titles for authors such as The End of Competitive Advantage: How to Keep Your Strategy Moving as Fast as Your Business from Harvard Business Review Press, provided by author Rita Gunther McGrath from Columbia University, as well as Revenue and the CMO: How Marketing Will Impact Revenue Through Big Data & Social Selling from Crimson Marketing, provided by marketing consultant Crystal Ponti on behalf of author Glenn Gow.

Book reviews as an Amazon Vine reviewer this past year include Team Geek: A Software Developer's Guide to Working Well with Others, by Brian W. Fitzpatrick and Ben Collins-Sussman, Leadership Conversations: Challenging High Potential Managers to Become Great Leaders, by Alan S. Berson and Richard G. Stieglitz, and No Better Time: The Brief, Remarkable Life of Danny Lewin, the Genius Who Transformed the Internet, by Molly Knight Raskin.
